Every few weeks I have a mini panic attack that I'm not getting anything done or making progress in my life. I think we all feel like that from time to time. So I thought I'd take a look back at 2014 and what I did get done. It may be few weeks since the rest of the world performed their yearly reassessment, but I figure as long as the calendar still reads January that new year mojo is still in the air. So here we go, a look back at 2014.
- Made my first meatloaf, bacon wrapped and delicious
- Joined a CSA
- Bought a grill for my first NYC balcony
- Made my first Thanksgiving meal
- Generally cooked a whole lot more than ever before
- Built a wooden table from scratch
- Built a wooden bookshelf from scratch
- Bought a MacBook Pro
- Lost an iPhone5
- Bought an iPhone6
- Spent a day in Toys R Us with a best friend
- Bought a bike
- Biked everywhere for 5 months
- Got into 3 bike accidents
- Ran my first 15K
- Ran my fourth half-marathon
- Hiked a bunch
- Visited Tucson, AZ and Denver, CO for the first time
- Snowshoed for the first time, got very lost
- Visited 6 National Parks
- Celebrated Barbuto's 10 year anniversary
- Sliced my finger tip twice
- Guided about 40 walking tours around NYC
- Took 5 improv classes
- Cast on 2 house teams
- Parted ways with 2 teams
- Watched myself on an episode of the Good Wife
- Performed in 1 stage play and taught myself a song on guitar for it
- 1 night of extra work.
- 4 Broadway shows.
- Saw the NY Philharmonic once.
- Saw the NYC Ballet once, first time seeing The Nutcracker
- Saw Ghostbusters for the first time in theaters
- Saw the Eagles for the first time in concert
- Watched my Big Sis leave NYC for Denver
- Watched a college best friend get married
- Attended 3 weddings
- 'Jean Valjean-ed' a loaf of bread
- Had a picnic in the park (with purchased bread)
- Attended 5 Major League Baseball games (3 new stadiums)
- Bought new glasses at a flea market
- Ate a cricket taco
- Won 3 out of 4 miniature golf trophies and defended my TIETIS Tour championship
- Snuck into Teddy Roosevelt's house
- Celebrated 5 years with a very special girl
